Waxing Moon is based out of the beautiful rolling foothills of Appalachia!

Our love for candles dates back to our younger years, where we learned to make candles using store bought wax, crayons for dye, and frozen juice cans for molds. In 1999, it became a hobby again, but this time after a lot of candle making research. We started giving our creations to friends as gifts, and before we knew it, we had folks wanting more!

In 2001, we not only started vending craft fairs, but also started seeking out more natural ingredients to use in our candles. We loved the idea of a paraffin – free candle, and also the wonderful benefits of essential oils.

Since 2003, we have been selling our candles to retail stores, and in 2007 we launched this website1
